Ex-York City striker James Turley made his debut for north Yorkshire neighbours Scarborough in a friendly against Derby County reserves.
Turley, who was released from Bootham Crescent last season, came on for the second-half of the clash at the McCain Stadium, where Derby - fielding three internationals and £11million worth of talent - won 2-1. County's £4million man Lee Morris, the son of former Boro manager Colin Morris, fired the visitors in front only for that to be cancelled out by a strike from Denny Ingram. Derby's winner came from O'Brien.
Meanwhile, talks are expected this week to finally resolve the respective futures of Boro striker Steve Brodie and centre-back Paul Ellender. Both were put up for sale last week in a bid to trim the club's wages bill. Several clubs from the Nationwide Third Division and the Conference are tracking the pair. It is believed both will be with new clubs before this Saturday's Conference campaign kick-off in which Scarborough start their term against Forest Green.
Former City ace Jonathan Greening starred as Middlesbrough won 2-0 at Den Haag.
