CHILDREN'S BBC is celebrating the 30th series of the famous Record Breakers programme near York - and is looking for an audience to witness an historic record breaking attempt.
On August 16, the RAF Falcons will be at Elvington Airfield and members of the public are invited to come along and support them.
The Falcons, some of the most experienced display parachutists in the country, will be making an exciting attempt which has never been tried before.
The team of ten will try to set a record for a parachute formation display achieved from the highest jump height. This involves the Falcons flying to a height of 25,000ft in their Hercules aircraft.
The team will then free-fall down to a height of around 3,000ft before opening their canopies and forming a "loose stack" formation one on top of one another, gliding down to earth. They will land directly on the airfield.
The whole attempt, from the moment they leave the plane to the moment they land, will last six minutes.
Record Breakers presenters, Jez Edwards, Fearne Cotton and Shovell, the percussionist from M People, will be present on the day to cheer the team - with their feet firmly set on the ground. A spokesperson for the programme said: "The target audience for the programme is children aged between eight and 14.
"Any child would need to be accompanied by an adult who could chaperone them for the day - children cannot be dropped off and left unattended.
"Audience members should be aware that they are likely to be filmed."

Meanwhile, daring biker Mike Newman will attempt to smash the blind person's two-wheel land-speed record at Elvington Park the following day.
Mike, who is raising £5,000 for the Guide Dogs for the Blind Association, is making his 100mph attempt to demonstrate that people with disabilities have the same ambitions and abilities as everyone else.
