VITA SPERICOLATA, the apple of trainer John Wainwright's eye, can complete a notable hat-trick of wins at tomorrow's Shergar Cup meeting at Ascot.

The card is match between two teams of jockeys - Britain and Ireland, captained by Kevin Darley, versus Frankie Dettori's Rest of the World side - and all six races will be shown live on BBC 1.

Kennythorpe-based Wainwright has drawn none other than Irish ace Mick Kinane to partner Vita Spericolata, who lines-up for the £50,000 Ritz Club Shergar Cup Distaff over six furlongs.

The four-year-old sprinter has hit a rich vein of form recently, winning at Newmarket and Chester. Despite a 3lb penalty tomorrow, she can oblige again.

Darley can get his name on the scoreboard, courtesy of Court Shareef in the Millennium and Copthorpe Shergar Cup Stayers Handicap.

Richard Price's gelding, a Goodwood winner during the summer, chased home the in-form Yorkshire at Newmarket's July meeting and was given too much to do when unplaced back at Goodwood recently. He is expected to run a big race.

Hambleden gets my Nap vote in the Carvill Shergar Cup Challenge Handicap over a mile and a half.

The Michael Jarvis-trained four-year-old has been running well without too much reward in similar races of late, but constantly leaves the impression that he is more than capable of landing a sizeable prize, especially if ridden a touch closer to the pace.

Top French jockey Gerald Mosse has the task of putting Hambleden's head in front where it matters most.

Two highly-rated youngsters from Middleham clash in the Ritz Club Shergar Cup Juvenile. I fancy Mark Johnston's Leicester winner Sir George Turner to have the edge over the James Bethell trained Martin House, a winner at York on his debut last month.

At Haydock tomorrow, the high-class Inglenook looks strong for the £40,000 Petros Rose of Lancaster Stakes.

David Nicholls could be the man to follow in another of Channel 4's televised races, the £20,000 Coral Eurobet Handicap.

The Sessay trainer saddles the speedy Brave Burt, who probably had too much use made of him from a bad draw at Ascot last time when finishing second to Corridor Creeper. Valuable compensation could come his way.

Redcar's meeting tomorrow is highlighted by the £10,000 Albert Humphreys Handicap, in which I think Bright Smile can make her supporters happy.

John Godsen's charge is progressing nicely and, still learning, is open to further improvement, especially now that she steps up in distance. Jimmy Fortune has the mount.

Gosden and Fortune can also strike with Transcendantale (3.30).

Sir Michael Stoute's potentially smart Procession can produce just that under Fergal Lynch in the EBF Maiden Fillies' Stakes.
