SUNDAY racing will be held on Knavesmire again next year.
After last year's storming success of the Evening Press-sponsored first Sunday Raceday at York - when 22,500 people flocked to Knavesmire - the fixture looks like becoming permanent in the racing calendar.
The 2002 Sunday meeting will be held on Sunday, September 8.
The date of this year's Sunday race meeting on Knavesmire is September 2, when the whole day is once again being sponsored by the Evening Press.
Next year York's season will start with the traditional three-day May meeting starting on Tuesday, may 14.
The famous Ebor Festival will be held on August 20, 21 and 22, while the John Smith's Cup, which attracted a record attendance this year, will be run on Saturday, July 13.
