Burythorpe and York keep piling up the points at the top of the First Division of the Horwath Pulleyn Heselton York Vale League and their meeting in three weeks time could be a title decider.
Stamford Bridge entertained Burythorpe and occupied the crease for all but five balls of their 40 overs to reach 135.
Milner cousins Andrew and paul took 2 for 50 from 20 overs and 6 for 76 respectively.
Mick Cooper and Paul Milner put on 86 for the second wicket for Burythorpe, leaving Andrew to confirm a seven-wicket win with a huge six.
York hosted their League Cup final opponents Stockton and Hopgrove, gaining a psychological advantage by defeating them by 108 runs.
York scored freely to reach 214 for 8 but had to thank the Stockton fielders for a poor catching display. Sean Hunter was dropped three times on his way to 72, as was Nick Ventress (62).
The Villagers could not cope with the York attack, Rich Carroll taking 3 for 34 and Simon Hall 4 for 25 as they slumped to 65 for 9.
Alex Widdowson joined skipper Derek Fryer and they frustrated the York bowlers. Fryer scored 29 and Widdowson 23 in an unbroken partnership of 51.
The shock result was at Norwich Union who lost to Hemingbrough by one run.
'Brough were all out for 74, Gavin Faulkner taking 3 for 30 and Jason Warne 3 for 12.
Sensing an easy win NU revised their batting line up with miserable results.
Richard Seels and Ken Jackson were soon among the wickets, the former capturing 5 for 33 and Jackson 4 for 12 from 10 overs before last man Warne was run out.
The rain-reduced Bishopthorpe v Ovington game went to the wire.
Henry Halstead top scored for the Bishops with 38 as they reached 122 for 9. David Whittle took 4 for 43 and John Sharples 3 for 40.
Derek Gardiner bagged the vital wicket of Sharples, the first of his 6 for 33 and the 1,000th wicket of his career. Jon Goodway dug in with 40 and Ian Holmes added 29 but Bishops won by five runs with one ball left.
