York are the new leaders of division five following their five-wickey triumph at Selby.
The hosts were given a good start by Jeffrey Knight and Roger Phillpot, the latter batting with control and authority.
But also key to the win was the spin of Pervez Akhtar. He had a telling effect, taking 6 for 20 as Selby fell for 126. York lost both openers to Andy Usher but Akhtar rounded off a good day for him with 46 and, helped by Tim Blackwell, steered York home.
Tadcaster Magnet returned to form with an excellent win against former leaders Wistow, beating them by four wickets.
Ian Jennings and S Emerson were the top scorers for Wistow with 32 and 27 respectively, but with three run-outs and four wickets to J Stuart, their 128 for 9 was going to be difficult to defend.
Mick Cowling (32) and David Coe (47) raced to 61 for the first wicket. Mike Bell with 3 for 40 slowed Tadcaster's progress until James Key and Peter Dickens took charge, seeing their side home with overs to spare.
Copmanthorpe turned in a much-improved performance to beat Woodhouse Grange by four wickets.
Danny Izzard top scored with 42 in Grange's 131 of which Steve Barnes bagged 5 for 50.
Richard Laver anchored the Cop reply with a sedate 42, while Neil Purdy (44 no) ensured there were no mishaps.
There was some woeful batting by Wheldrake, dismissed for 39 at Stockton & Hopgrove, whose Mick Jay took 5 for 16. Stockton won by eight wickets.
