NOW everyone can find out just what's happening behind the doors of York's health services - just by logging onto the "net".

The website www.yorkhealthservices.org has been launched - meaning people can log on to the net and browse through details of the York Health Services Trust's services at any time.

Patients, relatives, visitors, staff and prospective employees can access a wide variety of information - including details of clinical specialities, job vacancies, maps, details of the board and its activities and the hospital's publications.

Patient numbers and statistics are also available at the click of a computer mouse.

Pat Crowley, director of performance management at the trust, said: "This is an extremely exciting development for York Health Services Trust and is an important element of our commitment to improving public access to information.

"Distributing information through the website, such as recruitment literature, will also save money for the trust in the long-term.

"There is still some way to go before the site can provide all the information that people might wish to access, and we are committed to continually improving and up-dating its content.

"We hope our new website will prove to be a useful resource for people who want more information about the health services in York and we would welcome comments on how it can be improved."
