A televised meeting at Sandown in the afternoon, featuring a £100,000 race, and a popular evening fixture at Beverley is the recommended order of the day for racing fans tomorrow.

Thundering Surf makes plenty of appeal in the richly-endowed Tote Exacta Handicap, centrepiece of Channel 4's coverage of Sandown.

The John Jenkins-trained gelding won over this course and distance last season and is gradually running into form this time around.

A creditable second to Sarangani at Yarmouth at the end of May, Thundering Surf was beaten only a length on his latest outing at Ascot where he finished fourth to Grampas in a competitive handicap.

With Martin Dwyer in the saddle tomorrow, Thundering Surf is fancied to come out on top over the high-class Man O'Mystery and the hat-trick seeking Canada.

Linda Perratt makes the long journey to Sandown from Scotland's west coast and the Ayr trainer can be rewarded courtesy of Get Stuck In in the opening Carnival Starts Here Handicap.

Although not the most reliable of sprinters, Get Stuck In ran a fine race in defeat at Newcastle last weekend when he was nailed only in the dying strides of the Gosforth Park Cup by the Kieren Fallon-ridden Indian Spark.

Perratt has taken the view that if you can't beat 'em, join 'em, and has booked Fallon to partner Get Stuck In tomorrow. A bold bid is anticipated.

Fallon has also been engaged by Paul Cole to ride newcomer Titchfield in the Pentax 'Never A' Novice Stakes and the hint should be taken.

Cole has a knack of sending out two-year-old winners at the first time of asking and the well-regarded Titchfield is not to be underestimated.

Fallon could strike yet again later in the afternoon in the Pentax 'Under Any' Conditions Stakes on Carnival Dancer, a horse familiar to York racegoers.

The three-year-old opened his winning account in some style on Knavesmire last month and, although he has much more on his plate tomorrow, Carnival Dancer looks a colt with a bright future.

Sir Desmond has won his last two races and a hat-trick looks on the cards for Rae Guest's progressive sprinter in the Calypso Handicap. The excellent Jamie Spencer has the mount.

At Beverley, Kestral can swoop to victory in the featured £10,000 William Jackson's 150th Anniversary Handicap.

Tim Etherington's gelding is in cracking form at present having won two of his last three starts, most recently at Thirsk where he landed the re-sited Carlisle Bell in grand style.

Carl Lowther, on board last week, takes the mount again as Kestral bids to defy a 6lb penalty.

Lone Chief created a good impression when winning on his debut at Ripon and David Barron's juvenile is napped to score again in the EBF Wellbeing Stakes.

Dean Mernagh again has the mount on Lone Chief, an American-bred colt, who left the impression at Ripon that he was capable of plenty improvement.
