WITH three legs and eight lives intact, Pippa the cat is recovering at an animal shelter after cowering for days in the shadows of York Station. Staff there went to impressive lengths to rescue the unfortunate feline, once stopping an outgoing train to protect it. Even the most hard-pressed passenger could not complain about that delay.

Now Pippa is looking for somewhere to live. Her ideal home would need to come complete with loving owners, disabled access - and be located about a million miles from the nearest railway line.
