A WOMAN whose wonderful sense of humour earned her the nickname "the giggler", was celebrating her 100th birthday today.
Rose Greaves has been a resident at York Rise Nursing Home, in Heslington Road, York, since April 1998, having previously lived for many years in North Parade, off Bootham.
Tony Hall-Jackson, owner of York Rise Nursing Home, described Mrs Greaves as an extremely pleasant lady.
He said: "She is always so grateful. Whenever you do anything for her she always responds by saying 'Thank you for your kindness' - that's her pet phrase.
"She's known as 'the giggler' because she's got a wonderful sense of humour.
"She's a great lady to have around."
