DIXON MOTORS has expanded its successful Car Clinic business into North Yorkshire with the acquisition of Derwent Coach Works in Osbaldwick, York.
The move by Dixon is part of a massive development programme for the Car Clinic division, and the acquisition will bring the total number of Car Clinics in the Dixon Group to 12.
The site will be re-branded in the familiar bright green livery of Dixon Car Clinics and will operate from its current location for 12 months, before re-locating to a new £1 million purpose-built unit adjacent to Dixon's Renault dealership at Clifton Moorgate.
The existing workforce and management team will remain with the business, and ten more new jobs will also be created.
John Pattinson, currently general manager at Dixon's Car Clinic in Sheffield and a Dixon employee for ten years, will be bringing a wealth of experience to the new Car Clinic and assisting the team while it undergoes Dixon's vigorous induction and training.
Derwent Coachworks in Outgang Lane was part of Pocklington Coachworks Ltd, which has been a successful enterprise for the last 50 years.
The thriving business, with a good local reputation, was an attractive opportunity to Dixon and the owner was keen to sell the body repair centre to enable it to concentrate on expanding the other side of its business, Pocklington Coachworks, which builds specialised vehicles.
