Knaresborough motor racing driver Darren Manning has lunged himself into a hectic training schedule in readiness for the next round of the F3000 series this weekend at Magny-Cours in France.
Despite the lack of a good result from Nurburgring last weekend, the 25-year-old Arden International driver, pictured, is in good spirits.
"The weekend didn't go too well. The car was performing well and I should really have achieved a second or third place, but I didn't manage to gain a good place during qualifying which obviously affects the end result," said Manning.
"I've been to Magny-Cours several times, both for F3000 and F1 testing, so I'm very familiar with the track. The circuit is also very suited to our car set-up at the moment, so I'm hoping that will go in my favour.
"This next round will mean I'm halfway through the F3000 season, making it even more important for me to gain some good results during the last half of the season."
The Magny-Cours track saw David Coulthard fighting wheel to wheel for victory with Michael Schumacher in the 2000 Formula One French Grand Prix.
The next round of the F3000 series takes Manning to Silverstone on July 14, with Manning's F1 testing for BAR Honda on July 4 at Monza.
