Acomb and Selby have established a lead for the top two play-off places in the York and District Junior Cricket Association NatWest Bank U15 League West Zone and their meeting next week should decide the zone champions.
Acomb this week had a nine-wicket win over Escrick Park while Selby had a six wicket win over Dringhouses to set up the top place clash.
In the East Zone three teams are fighting it out for the top two places.
Sheriff Hutton Bridge, although losing to third place Dunnington by 45 runs, are in pole position along with Stamford Bridge. Aany two from these three can claim the play off places.
In the Yorkshire Sheeting Under-13 League, Ovington have taken over the top place in West from York, but York, with games in hand, are favourites to go back on top.
It is a three-way fight in the East Zone between Sheriff Hutton Bridge, Dunnington and Heworth and, with the Bridge and Dunnington yet to meet, any two from these three can claim the top two places.
In the semi-finals of the Tony Dodds Blossom Under-13 Cup, Woodhouse Grange will meet York, and Clifton Alliance face Sheriff Hutton Bridge for places in the final which will be played at Clifton Alliance CC on Sunday, July 15 at 10am.
Acomb and Selby will meet in the semi-final of the Guy Mitchell President's Under-15 Cup. The other two quarter finals have yet to be played.
Ovington, Stamford Bridge and Woodhouse Grange have all progressed to the semi-finals of the PK Accommodation 40-Over Cup, the other semi-finalist still to be decided.
