It is out with the old and in with the new at York Theatre Royal's costume hire department.
After another busy year putting on productions which require new costumes to be made the department is clearing the decks and auctioning off the costumes.
Tomorrow, between 10am and 4pm, the costume hire department, based in Walmgate, will be looking for new homes and loving owners for a number of costumes that have at one time graced the Theatre Royal's stage.
This is a fantastic chance to own a little piece of history, or just to get a cheap waistcoat.
The sale is open to everyone, from dramatic societies to fun-loving party people and everyone is bound to pick up a bargain. This year the sale will be held on the actual stage at the Theatre Royal.
