Yapham have taken over as the new leaders of the Foss Cricket League with a two-point advantage over Woodhouse Grange, Bubwith and Aldby Park.
Wilberfoss, bottom of the table and without a win, visited Yapham and put up a creditable performance scoring 141 for three with good contributions from Brian Room (39), B Jackson (32) and M Bagley (31).
Yapham were eased to victory by Dick Wright (54), and Tim Lazenby (42).
Aldby Park are moving up the table menacingly and had a 29-run win over previous leaders Bubwith, who suffered a second successive defeat.
James Postill (62) and Mark Shepherd (40), were instrumen-tal in Aldby posting 145 for eight, with Paul Hemingway bowling well claiming four for 24.
The Bubwith reply was always kept in check despite a useful 42 from Dave Burks and good support from Neil Pratt (23) and Edward Smith (23no), their innings closing on 116 for five.
Woodhouse Grange had an eight-wicket win over Heworth, who relied heavily on Joel Johnson (33) and James Preston (31), in reaching 79 for seven. Jon Bean (31) and an unbeaten 28 from Howard Johnson saw the champions home.
Pocklington moved to within four points of the leaders.
Wheldrake put up a good performance totalling 115 for seven, with Simon Kidby scoring 48. Rod Hinch took three for 23. Richie Bowen, unbeaten on 67, and Andrew Wood (27) then shared a 63-run second-wicket partnership to take Pocklington to an eight-wicket victory.
