MY husband recently died in hospital after being there for three weeks, coming home for two days and then having to go back for a few hours.
During his stay in York District Hospital he was very well looked after by all the staff there, and many facilities were put in place for his homecoming.
Unfortunately after two days he deteriorated rapidly and I had to call out the emergency doctor twice during the night. Arrangements were made for his return to hospital. These doctors attended to my call quickly and were exceedingly helpful and quick in sorting out my problems, and I cannot thank them and the ambulance service enough for this.
My grateful thanks also go to the specialist who had cared for him so well for 17 years.

...I RECENTLY spent a week in Ward G1 at the York District Hospital. I would like to express my thanks to all the staff there. They really were like ministering angels - caring, courteous and pleasant - in spite of being short-staffed and short of equipment.
I heard two or three of them say that if they ever won the Lottery they would buy new equipment for the hospital.
What generosity! I wish it could be echoed by our politicians - and more finance could be found for nurses' salaries and other hospital needs.
