A woman was airlifted to hospital and two others injured after two cars crashed near Selby today.
The crash, involving a Peugeot 106 and a Ford Focus, happened just after 9am near the New Inn Pub on the B1222 road just west of Sherburn-in-Elmet.
Firefighters took 15 minutes to release a woman from the wreckage of her Peugeot 106 using cutting gear and others were released before the arrival of North Yorkshire Fire and Rescue Service.
Ambulance crews from North and West Yorkshire were called in and the helicopter ambulance was also used to take the woman to St James' Hospital, Leeds.
Police said four people had been travelling in one car and the injured woman had been travelling alone.
