Wigginton Primary School are celebrating their first overall victory in the annual Haxby Girls' Netball Club tournament.
The competition is held each year at the Ethel Ward Playing Field in Haxby for schools in the area.
The Wigginton team comprised Bethany Sissons, Zoe Willstrop, Emily Mantle, Jennifer Murdoch, Victoria Jervis, Katie Storey and twins Samantha and Stephanie Gadsby.
They beat Headlands (Haxby), Robert Wilkinson (Strensall), New Earswick and Skelton and only lost to Ralph Butterfield (Haxby).
CRICKET

Under-13 League 'A': All Saints beat Oaklands by eight wickets; All Saints beat Millthorpe by 48 runs; All Saints beat Tadcaster by 53 runs; Tadcaster beat Burnholme by six wickets; Tadcaster beat Bootham by 58 runs; Sherburn beat Millthorpe by 11 runs; Burnholme beat Sherburn by 45 runs.

ATHLETICS
The York and District Schools' individual championship finals will be held at Huntington Stadium tomorrow, starting at 1.45pm.
There will be 52 track events and 33 field events, giving a busy afternoon of top class athletics. It is hoped to have the results in next week's School Sports report.
Will competitors please note the maximum length permitted for spikes is six millimetres.
Also, please note there is no access to the inside of the stadium complex. The toilets are situated at the finish end of the stand.
