Kieren Fallon, who thrilled racegoers at Pontefract yesterday by completing a treble, can also make his presence felt at Beverley tomorrow.
Successes on Just Murphy, Gracilis and Clever Girl took Fallon's score this season to 52. This has moved him up into second place behind Pat Eddery in the jockeys' championship table as he seeks to regain the title he lost last year to Kevin Darley after injury kept him off the track from June onwards.
Fallon has been booked by Julie Camacho to ride Mindanao in division one of the Eve Rail Claiming Stakes tomorrow.
His mounts for the Camacho stable at Norton are few and far between, which makes this enagagement look positively interesting.
Mindanao gave notice of her well-being in the Queen Mother's Cup at York recently. Although she finished only ninth she ran better than that placing might indicate and she takes a step down in class tomorrow. I expect Mindanao to make a bold bid tomorrow.
Fallon can also lift the featured race at Beverley, the £10,000 Eve Rail Handicap, on Palau Pinang, trained by Gerard Butler.
The five-year-old got back on top at Sandown recently when scoring by half-a-length from Kathakali over tomorrow's distance of a mile and a quarter.
Off only a 3lb higher mark here, Palau Pinang can follow-up, probably at the main expense of 12-times winner McGillicuddy Reeks, penalised 6lb for her clear-cut success at Thirsk last week.
Secret Conquest is napped to win the Tankclean Handicap.
Trained near Scorton by David Barker, whose horses have been in excellent form for several weeks, Secret Conquest finished fourth to Caution over a mile at Redcar recently after going for home a long way out and just getting caught.
Over a slightly shorter distance tomorrow and with more patient tactics likely to be employed, Secret Conquest could win. Robert Winston has the mount.
Shotley Dancer has run creditably in both her starts to date and Neville Bycroft's filly would not be one to underestimate in the Eve Rail Maiden Auction Stakes. John McAuley has the ride.
El Dolor has been running well in defeat recently on both sand and turf. It would come as no surprise to see Richard Fahey's gelding get his head in front in the Eve Rail Apprentice Handicap.
At Lingfield, Hard To Catch can live up to his name in the Arena Leisure Handicap.
Ken Ivory's sprinter has won his last two races and showed plenty of determination to beat Shannon Flyer by a neck on his latest outing at Goodwood. Smart apprentice Chris Catlin again has the mount.
Also worth noting are the evergreen Yeast (2.30) and the promising Rainshine (3.30).
