Sheffield Collegiate ran up a total of 241 for eight in 55 overs, and York replied with 175 for eight.

Collegiate's wicketkeeper Neil Priestley was their top scorer, with 72. He was stumped by York's skipper Nigel Durham off the bowling of Stephen Piercy, who took three for 99 in 23 overs.

In York's innings, Marcus Wood was run out for 44, Nash Stone contributed 29 and Rob Flack and Rob Lancaster chipped in with unbeaten knocks of 33 and 18 respectively.

After their fruitless trip to Barnsley on Saturday when they were left without a game because the Shaw Lane pitch was already booked for a junior game, Scarborough won at home to Driffield yesterday.

Driffield were dismissed for 91 in 47 overs at North Marine Road. Off-spinner Chris Clifford, who opened the bowling, took three for five in 11 overs. Rob Barlow, bowling at first change, took five for 33.

Scarborough's batsmen reached their target in 22.2 overs for the loss of two wickets, Neil Fletcher scoring a half century.

After their shock defeat at Castleford on Saturday, Harrogate made some amends when they beat Hull by eight wickets yesterday, Dave Pennett taking four for 28 in 13.5 overs.

John Inglis made 50 before being lbw to Amit Dani, John Proud scored 25 and Peter Hepworth finished unbeaten on 51.

Low sunlight caused the umpires to stop play in end Sheffield United's match against Yorkshire Academy when United were 174 for eight replying to Yorkshire Academy's 249 for nine.

By the time that the sun had set after half an hour delay, the game was ruled 'time out', much to the annoyance of Yorkshire officials.
