Hull Zingari, the Hunters Estate Agent York and District Senior League division two leaders, won away to fellow league newcomers Goole.

Mark Shipp made 40 for Goole and Zingari's Kevin Deighton took four for 53. Phil Scott then scored 56 for the vistors and Alistair Markham took his side to a seven wicket win with an unbeaten 41.

Scarborough are in second place after gaining the better of a draw with Clifton Alliance. Andrew Welford was top scorer for Scarborough with 63 as the home team took full batting points with 211 for seven.

Scarborough's John Harrison then took four for 78 but Alliance drew at 179 for eight, Syd Corley leading with 45.

Harrogate skipper Jeremy Henderson, who went into the match at home to struggling Castleford with an average in excess of 150, was out second ball, but Matt Cousen celebrated his return from college by cracking an impressive 113. With John O'Brien making 43, Harrogate were able to reach 232 for eight. Mick Bourke captured four for 71.

Castleford's South African player, Greg Curry, made 34, Steve Medley 26 and Jonathan Mills 26 not out but Marcus Fox gained his second five wicket haul of the season as he took five for 63 and, with Duncan Morris grabbing three for 44, Castleford were dismissed for 150.

Bubwith kept in touch with the leading group when they had the better of a draw with Whitkirk, who had their last pair to thank for avoiding defeat. Gary Moore made 47 and Edward Smith 44 for Bubwith, who were bowled out for 173 by Matt O'Brien (4-45) and Garry Thorpe (5-46). David Boucher then made a match highest score of 64 but lacked support as Brian Last (3-28), Charlie Cameron (3-41) and David Stephenson (3-75) had them close to defeat at 154 for nine.

Tadcaster Magnet made 180 for seven batting first at Civil Service, Russell Parker scoring 75 and Mick Ransome 49. John Wetherhill took five for 27 in 16 overs, but Scott Bradley's 29 was just enough to earn Service a draw at 104 for eight.

Bridlington's overseas player Ehtesham Younis hit 73 off 91 balls against the Rowntree attack at Mille Crux. When Rowntree replied, Barry Steel hit 42 off 43 balls and Gerry Capelin made 29 and their efforts enabled the factory side to draw at 154 for seven.
