Huby won by six wickets in their Hunters Estate Agent York and District Senior League top of the table division four match at second-placed Yapham.

Trevor Walker hit four sixes in scoring 83 for Yapham, but Paul Moore took six for 45 and five home players netted ducks as Yapham were all out for 158 in 39.1 overs.

Mike Mierzwinski hit 44 and Dan Grainger 47 as Huby won in the 44th over.

Sheriff Hutton overcame a bad start to take 29 points from a 72 run victory over Easingwold II.

Both Sheriff Hutton openers Tony Hull and Ben Tompkins were dismissed without troubling the scorers. Adrian Leckenby struck twice more as Sheriff slumped to 42 for four, but Eddie Hull at number six made 78 not out to help his side recover to 179 for nine.

Leckenby, who had a nine wicket haul earlier in the season, finished with five for 50 off 19 overs.

Easingwold opener Mark Roberts made a patient 25 as he lost a series of partners before being ninth out at 88. Marshall at number ten held up the home attack by making 21 in a last wicket stand of 19 but Easingwold were eventually all out for 107.

Carlton Towers crashed to 84 all out at Acomb and the Snaith side are now bottom of the table. Acomb make a modest 148 for eight before Carlton collapsed against the bowling of 18-year-old John Beech (4-14) and John Renshaw (3-15).

Both sides took full batting points on a run-laden track at Dunnington who got the better of a draw with Dringhouses.

Chris Burgess scored 78 for Dunnington and his brother Ian made 76 in a 150 run stand for the second wicket. Dunnington declared on 245 for four off 42 overs.

The declaration nearly backfired as Kevin McGuinness followed his three for 29 with 94 and Tim Lamour hit 41 to take Dringhouses to 216 for six in their extended 48 over innings.

Sheriff Hutton Bridge took full batting points and though they were unable to force a victory as Thorp Arch held on for a draw, Bridge have moved off the bottom.

Dave Ellis returned from his general election involvement to hit 53 as Bridge made 231 for eight. Thorp Arch struggled and had to be content with a draw at 133 for eight.

Huntington skipper Neil Atkinson has suffered an Achilles tendon injury which has sidelined him for the remainder of the season, but his team were able to beat Thirsk by eight wickets.
