I WAS appalled to read your report on No 28, a coffee shop in Colliergate, which I have visited at least once a week since it opened last December. (Making Do, June 16).
It is a pleasure to have such a clean comfortable coffee shop in York. The menu choice, although not extensive, offers a varied choice for its customers. The food is always well prepared and cooked to order, presentation being second to none. The owner makes a point of making everyone welcome, which has encouraged the return of these customers time and again.
I feel most strongly that this report was a complete and utter misrepresentation of the standard of this establishment. Your reporter should have recognised the excellence of this establishment instead of attempting to destroy it.
