Girls football is going from strength to strength in York.
Plans are afoot to create a new girls football league in the city, with Wigginton Grasshoppers at the forefront of its development.
The Grasshoppers have just formed their own girls' team and have been delighted by the response. Twelve girls attended the first training session, pcitured above, with more expected in coming weeks.
They are still looking to attract more girls, aged 10 to 15.
They train at Wigginton School on Thursdays, 6.30-8pm.
