York Ladies Evening League two-wood singles championship finalists Sandra Grantham (Nestl Rowntree) and Sheila Turpin (Copmanthorpe) will have to do it all again.
Their crunch duel was washed out by a heavy downpour forcing a re-arranged showdown, again at West Park Bank, on Monday June 25 (6.30pm).
Quarter-finalists were Judy Abel and Grantham (both Nestl Rowntree), Turpin (Copmanthorpe), Brenda Love (Railway Institute), Betty Richardson (Ainsty), Maureen Robinson (Scarcroft), and Anne Sharpley and Pauline Cooper (both Clarence Gardens).
Richardson played Love in the first quarter final, the former pegged back from 7-0 up to 10-7, only then not to lose another shot.
Richardson then met Grantham in the semi-final. The scores were level at 7-7 but the former was only allowed to score two more shots before Grantham pulled away to win 14-9 coping much better with the heavy rain.
Turpin played Abel in her quarter-final.
Again the scores were close, 7-8 to Turpin at 11 of the 15 ends. Shen then bagged two decisive shots on each of the next ends.
Turpin then met Cooper in the semi-finals. At seven ends the scores were deadlocked, but after that Cooper did not score as Turpin triumphed 14-4.
