TONY Blair's pledge to improve the public services was at the heart of the Queen's Speech.
New Bills will mean more changes for Britain's reform-weary schools, place more NHS resources in the hands of medical staff, and ask more of our police.
It is an ambitious programme that will, as promised, allow private firms a greater role in the public sector. That is bound to cause friction. And we again face the prospect of legislation to ban hunting being chased from the Commons to the Lords and back again.
Despite Labour's whacking majority, this could still prove to be a lively Parliamentary session.
