An 81-year-old woman was injured after being hit by an ambulance in an East Yorkshire town.
The pensioner began to cross the road at South Marine Drive, Bridlington, in front of the ambulance and despite avoiding action being taken by the driver, the woman was hit by the wing mirror of the vehicle.
She was taken to hospital with bruising to her hand, but later released after treatment.
The ambulance was responding to the report of a collapse and had its blue lights flashing, but did not have its sirens sounding and was not speeding.
The accident happened at about 2.35pm yesterday, and any witnesses should ring the police in Bridlington on 01262 402700.
