A THREE-FORKED honour has been captured by pupils from Queen Margaret's School in Escrick.
Charlotte Ward and Sarah Taylor have both been selected for the British Pony Event team, Charlotte aboard her pony Buddy, and her school-mate on her pony named Ralph. They will compete with the British team in October.
And to complete the three-pronged boost for the school Jaquetta Straker has been long-listed for the junior British event team.
FOOTBALL
Sixteen Primary Schools have decide to compete in the new soccer competition for girls which starts in later this month.
They will play in four groups of four which are:
Group 'A': Appleton Roebuck, Copmanthorpe, Scarcroft, Haxby Road.
Group 'B': New Earswick, Dringhouses, Lakeside, Osbaldwick.
Group 'C': Clifton Without, Longman's Hill, St Aelred's, St Lawrence's.
Group 'D': Acomb, Westfield, Lundall Manor, Poppleton Road.
All groups will play at Copmanthorpe Primary School with group 'A' and 'B' teams on Thursday, June 28, and group 'C' and 'D' sides on Tuesday, July 5.
Six teams will progress to the finals at Copmanthorpe School on Thursday, July 12.
Meanwhile, the Under 11 City Boys' presentation will be this Saturday at 1pm at the Wigginton Sports Club.
Players are reminded to take kits and tie money if not already received.
The 27th annual meeting of the North Yorkshire Schools' FA will at the Feathers Hotel, Helmsley on Wednesday, July 4, 2pm start.
All schools and colleges should ensure representation as important talks will take place about the future of schools' football in North Yorkshire and in the City of York over the next year or two.
All schools have received a notice of the AGM and with it a Yorkshire Cup entry form which requires urgent action, as the secretary wishes to distribute the draws for next year's competition on the day of the AGM. Entries received later than Monday, June 25 will not be accepted.
