York Wasps are hoping to extend the loan period of Hunslet Hawks winger Aaron Campbell.
The 22-year-old's one-month loan comes to an end tomorrow, which would make him ineligible for Sunday's visit of Hull KR.
However, coach Lee Crooks has confirmed they are trying to negotiate with Hunslet to extend the deal further, hopefully until the end of the season.
Fellow winger Simon Wray's loan from Sheffield Eagles has been extended for another month with the intention of also keeping him until the end of the season.
Both players have impressed during their stint with the Wasps, although Campbell missed last week's defeat by Doncaster with a shoulder injury.
In further good news for York, Shaun Austerfield could be back in the fold on Sunday.
He has been struggling to get to training for the last two weeks due to work commitments which ruled him out of the team last week.
Crooks is hoping the talented centre will be able to train tonight which would put him back into contention for a place against Hull KR.
