From a packed Headingley to a few hundred at Barrow.

That's the reality facing York Wasps coach Lee Crooks tomorrow when he gets back to his day job following his exploits with Yorkshire.

Crooks admitted "it's back down to earth with a bump" after being in charge of some of Super League's best players in the Origin match on Tuesday.

But he is also aware that tomorrow's game (3pm kick-off) is the Wasps' last hope of recording only their second win of the season.

There is no realistic chance of picking up points in their last three games, against Featherstone, Widnes and Leigh, but the Border Raiders could prove vulnerable.

Reports claim they were dreadful in losing to a struggling Hunslet team last week which prompted the resignation of coach Paul Charlton.

He will be succeeded by Cameron Bell but his assistant, Stuart Wilkinson, will take charge for the rest of the season, starting tomorrow.

Crooks said: "Their result against Hunslet will give our lads a bit of confidence to go up there and give them a run for their money.

"If we start the game like we started against Sheffield last week we've got no chance but we were a lot more competitive in the second half and if we start like that and carry it on for 80 minutes we will have a chance."

Two new faces are expected to be on show for the Wasps at Craven Park. Former Leeds Wembley hero Leroy Rivett has trained this week after recovering from tonsillitis.

"He has slotted in quite nicely," said Crooks. "He is predominantly a winger but he will probably start in the centre because he has pace and agility which we lack and he can cause them a few problems with the ball in his hands."

Also on board is utility player Chris Stockton from Castleford Lock Lane, a target for Crooks earlier in the season. He can play at full-back, centre or in the back row and he will start tomorrow in the centre or at loose forward.

The rest of the team will be similar to that which lost 56-0 at Sheffield last week, with Simon Wray expected to be fit despite having an abscess on his toe.

There's better news of loose forward Mick Ramsden whose ankle injury is not as bad as first thought and may fit to return next week.

Barrow this week welcomed back their former player, centre Stuart Magorian, who has been playing rugby union for Italian side Bologna. He signed on Thursday and goes straight into the team.

They have lost captain and loose forward Gary Charlton, son of the departed coach Paul, to Workington. His place will be taken by Brett McDermott who switches from the centre.
