Dunnington stretched their lead in the premier division of Hunters Estate Agents York and District Senior League to 23 points after an advantage draw at closest rivals Clifton Alliance.
Former West Indian Test star Collis King was once more to the fore, this time with the ball as he grabbed a hat-trick which almost brought his side victory.
Dunnington skipper Simon Kellett continued his good form as he hit 71 while handy contributions came from Harwood Williams (25), King (38) and Hamid Khan (33) combined to help Dunnington to maximum batting points at 236 for 6.
Dave Taylor then gave Clifton a good start with 55 and brother Rob continued the good work but King turned the tables by taking a hat-trick, only the third such feat in the premier division, in the 39th over as he threatened to bowl his side to victory.
But Rob Taylor was able to nurture the tail in making an unbeaten 53 and Alliance gained a draw at 161 for 9 with Taylor unbeaten on 53.
Easingwold remain as the only side without a win in the division but did show much improved form when they got the better of a draw with Pickering. After losing an early wicket, skipper Jonathon Marwood and Damian Smith compiled the highest premier division partnership of the season when they put on 181 for the second wicket before Smith was dismissed for 93. Marwood was able to complete his century and remained unbeaten on 102 when his side's innings was closed at 214 for 2.
Pickering were never seriously threatened with defeat and gained a comfortable draw through Brian Leckenby (29), Colin Frank (42) and Craig Aconley (38), who helped the Pikes reach 178-7. But with Easingwold getting the best of the encounter, they moved above their opponents who are now in 11th place.
Ripon remain entrenched firmly at the foot of the table after their heavy defeat at Sheriff Hutton Bridge, who ran out winners by eight wickets after Paul Oldfield (65) and Paul Scaling (78no) shared a 140-run partnership. Earlier, Neil Jackson made 49no for Ripon but Mike Smith, who took 4 for 42, and Keran Rodgers, who had 3 for 31, had limited them to 153-8.
The game at Thirsk was reduced to 45 overs because of a shower and this may well have prevented the home side gaining a victory over third placed Acomb, who were on the precipice at 100 for 9 when the overs expired.
Thirsk made 151 for 6 as Mike Gear made 39 and Neil Stephenson 29 while Des Wyrill had reached 29 when he was forced to retire with an injury. Dave Sykes maintained his high ranking in the bowling charts with 4 for 64.
In the second half, Chris Simpson made 45 for Acomb but Barry Petty caused his usual problems in claiming 4 for 31 as Acomb clung on for a draw.
Heworth captain Dave Simpson carried his bat through his side's innings for the second time in a week when he made 88no to steer his team to an eight-wicket win at Whitkirk where the home side lost heavily despite bagging maximum batting points at 200 for 6. Craig Shipton hit 68 and Stuart Pickles 53 for the hosts as Graham Hayward captured 3 for 63.
Heworth's opening pairing of Matthew Atkinson and Dave Simpson reached 90 before Atkinson fell for 30 then Simpson and Hayward combined in an unbroken 97-run stand which took Heworth to their second win with Hayward unbeaten on 56.
Osbaldwick skipper Steve Young made 31no when his side batted first against his former club, Woodhouse Grange. Steve Jackson, with 34, and Peter Machin, who made 25, supported in a total of 165 for 9 with Steve Burdett keeping the target down to manageable level with 4 for 55. Woodhouse then had to thank Nick Hadfield, who made a fine undefeated 90, and Stuart Craven, who made 36 in a 108-run second wicket stand for gaining their first win of the season as they responded with 169 for 3.
