THE generosity of customers of the Six Bells pub, Strensall, has helped to make life easier for deaf people.
The pub has raised £2,550 over four years from a range of fundraising activities organised by the punters including raffles and a bonus ball competition, which they have donated to the Hearing Dogs for the Deaf centre at Cliffe.
Pub manager, Brian Allen, said: "It's the customers and bar staff who did all the work. We have raised enough money to buy a dog and train it to give to a deaf person."
The pub will now start raising money for a new cause, yet to be chosen.
