Good Evans- Scarborough rowing coach David Evans has had a boat named after him in York.
He has been coach to Leeds University Rowing Club for 11 years and they decided to give their latest boat his name.
The boat-naming ceremony took place at the clubhouse on the banks of the Ouse, near Scarborough Bridge, followed by a club regatta.
Evans rowed for the RAF at the Henley Royal Regatta and has been a member of the stewards' enclosure at Henley for 40 years.
He moved to North Yorkshire in 1990 to work for Boulton and Cooper, the auctioneers, valuers and estate agents in Malton.
The new university boat at York was made by Raymond Sims in Nottingham and is an eight for the club's ladies section.
