Your correspondent Mrs P Johnson (Letters, June 12) believes the Americans do not know much about the two world wars.
They still managed to suffer casualties of 116,000 dead between 1917 and 1918 and 406,000 dead during the Second World War.
That is a lot of sons, fathers and brothers in anyone's language.
