Dick Turpin returned to the scene of his downfall - Knavesmire - with a bold bid to snatch the trophies ahead of this weekend's big meeting at York Racecourse.
York's one-man crimewave made off across the racecourse with the swag pursued by a posse of race fans.
To find out if Dick (played by Kelvin Goodspeed) managed the heist or whether the gallant heroes saved the day, you could visit tomorrow's Timeform charity meeting, the highlight of which is the William Hill Trophy race.
Or you could catch up with him on another stage, Friargate Theatre, Lower Friargate, where he is performing until Saturday, June 30.
