Leaders Barbican produced a storming fight-back in the York Veterans' Bowls League league 1.
The table-toppers trailed Wigginton 'A' 16-10 with three ends to play.
But they countered in style scoring a six, one and two to win 19-16.
Nestl 'A' their strongest challengers had an easy win at Forum 'A' 25-6 to stay in second place.
Wigginton 'B' beat Dunnington 'B' 15-12 to move into top spot in League 2 as Bert Keech 'C's match was postponed.
Nestl 'B' overcame Forum 'B' 21-7 and Fulford Conservatives 'B' had a 19-17 win at Retreat.
The two top teams in League 3 were in opposition and Nestl 'C' had an easy win over Dunnington 'C' 26-6 to head the table. Wigginton 'C' had a narrow 21-19 victory over Nestl 'D'.
Scarcroft now have a five-point advantage at the top of League 4 after beating nearest rivals Poppleton 'A' 20-8. West Park 'A' move into second place with a narrow 17-16 win against Ainsty 'A'.
Acomb 'B' had a comfortable win over Copmanthorpe 'B' 26-6 in League 5 but league leaders West Park 'A' lost to Ainsty 'B' 17-10. West Park 'B' are still top by virtue of a single-shot better difference than Acomb 'B'. Poppleton 'B' and Holgate WMC played the only draw of the week 16-16.
Acomb 'C' remain top of League 6 after beating Shipton 16-13. Poppleton 'C' are now in second spot with a 19-15 win at West Park 'C', their fourth consecutive victory.
Dringhouses 'C' had a fine 22-8 win over Holgate and Copmanthorpe 'C' beat RI Amateurs 17-16.
Maddison Cup holders Nestl 'B' beat Coronation Cup holders West Park 'A' 21-17 in the preliminary round of the Maddison Cup and will now visit West Park to play Holgate who beat Huntington WMC 22-13. Nestl 'C' were trailing 15-6 against Dunnington 'B' but rallied to win 21-16. They now play clubmates Nestl 'D'.
RI Corinthians, Scarcroft, Bert Keech 'B', Wigginton 'A' and Bootham Conservatives also progressed to the next round.
In the Coronation Cup, Stamford Bridge beat League 3 leaders Dunnington 'C' 20-16. Fulford Cons 'B' had an easy 26-11 win at Copmanthorpe 'B' and Forum 'B', Shipton and Museum also progressed to the last 16.
