York went top of division one after their emphatic 115-run win over Bishopthorpe.
Batting first they were given a sound start by Sean Hunter and S Jones putting on 47 before Jones became the first of Derek Gardiner's five wickets. Hunter went on to make 79 and, with useful support from Andy Dee, saw his side finish with 191 for 7.
York's young bowlers Ian Calpin, John Cook and Simon Hall made early inroads into the Bishopthorpe batting and the innings folded for 76 giving York their fourth maximum of the season.
Burythorpe's 216 for 6 at Heworth was largely due to a fourth wicket partnership of 106 between Steve Towse and Andy Milner whose innings of 83 included 14 fours and one six. M Priest bowled throughout the innings and took five wickets.
Heworth's top five batsmen were all caught behind by wicketkeeper Towse as Mark Fairweather extracted movement from the damp green wicket. Mal Caddie was finally dismissed in the 39th over for a stubborn 74 to deprive Burythorpe of a final bowling point.
Openers John Sharples and Jon Goodway put on 76 for Ovington against Norwich Union, which proved to be just over half their final score.
Ian Holmes and Graham Haigh had NU in trouble at 39 for 3 but were pulled round by the fourth-wicket pairing of Ranadeep Bannerjee and Dave Mitchell, who added 69.
Sharples, coming on to bowl first change, swung the game back to Ovington by taking 5 for 48, the last NU wicket falling in the last over nine runs short of victory.
The day's best all-round performance was by 17-year-old David Chaplin of Stamford Bridge, who followed up his 99 with 5 for 25 as Hemingbrough slumped to another defeat. Bridge reached 186 for 3, their highest score of the season, while Hemingbrough struggled to 109 with Malcolm Calvert top scoring with 49.
Burn opening bowlers Steve Goldsborough and Dave Queenan kept Stockton and Hopgrove well in check restricting them to 35 from the first 20 overs.
Then Peter Fairclough and David Kerrison cut loose, Fairclough smashing eight fours and two sixes in his 61 while Kerrison's 72 included five fours and five sixes as Stockton raced to 197 for 4.
Burn lost both openers to James Wigby but Ray Adamson made 58 and David Prime powered to 91 in just 55 balls (ten fours and five sixes) as Burn raced home by seven wickets.
