Tockwith, who do not enter a team in the York Amateur Bowling Association League, provided a first round surprise in the Williamson Cup defeating second division leaders Stamford Bridge 76-75 on their own green.
Dringhouses, Osbaldwick and RI Corinthians meanwhile were second division clubs who beat teams from division one by the odd shot.
Steve Lea Holgate WMC's captain bowled the wood which gave them a 61-60 win over Stewart to hopefully kick start their season as they are bottom of division two without a win.
Several games were postponed for rain increasing difficulties with the supplementary round.
The following matches are to be played on July 4: Holgate v Heworth Cons (winner to play Vickers), Bishopthorpe v University (winner to play at Wetherby and loser home to Nestl Rowntree), Poppleton Road WMC v Poppleton, Bootham v Scarcroft, Haxby Road v Bert Keech 'A'; Fellowship Cup: Clifton v Acomb.
Holgate and Stamford Bridge both increased their leads at the top of divisions one and two leaving any one of six clubs in each league fighting for the runners-up spot.
Wins for Ainsty and Burnholme increased the gap between them and bottom clubs Harrogate and Poppleton Road WMC to ten points.
In division three Wetherby lost 8-0 at Scarcroft and the lead at the top may be further reduced as their game is against nearest rivals Minster.
The C&I knockout final will be played next Tuesday at Clarence Gardens between Tang Hall and Acomb at 6.45pm.
