THE knives seem to be out at the Press for York's Italian Restaurants - last week Bari's, this week Silvano's! (Not so bella, June 9).
In the past 20 years, I've eaten out in many of York's Italian eateries and always enjoyed the experience. I've never had a bad meal! They offer excellent food (lots of vegetarian choices without a fuss) in lively, family-friendly surroundings.
For a short time you can forget your worries and the weather. Transport yourself to the Mediterranean. My hotel guests appreciate our Italian restaurants, even if the Press critics don't.
My family often eat at Silvano's at lunch time. In the school holidays when burger places and chain pizza places are hell on earth, Silvano's offers some respite. At £4.95 for pizza or pasta including a drink, their lunchtime offer is hard to beat. Our favourite treat!
Thanks to all York's Italian restaurants, from one grateful family.
