York teenager Adam Lee is taking the skiing world by storm.
At the age of 16, Adam has already been crowned the winner of the prestigious English Ski Council Grand Prix series, just three events into the five-race competition.
Last month the Evening Press reported how Adam had won the opening Grand Prix race, at Chatham, as well as the Chatham Club National.
He has now gone on to win the first six races of the year - the Rossingdale Grand Prix and Club National and the Hemel Grand Prix and Club National.
Those three Grand Prix victories will be enough to clinch the series as the each skiier's top three results count towards the final placings.
It is a remarkable achievement by Adam who has come on in leaps and bounds this season.
Despite racing in adult competitions against some of the best skiiers in Britain, Clifton youngster Adam has left them all trailing in his wake.
His latest victories have seen him condemn 20-year-old Scottish international Blair Aitken to second place.
His father, John, said: "We can't believe what he's done and neither can anyone else. He's been training for years but he's just started to get stronger this year.
"He is very dedicated and puts I a lot of hard work."
However, Adam's wonder year would never have happened if John had got his way.
"He's doing his GCSEs so I didn't want him to ski at all this year but he insisted. I'm glad he did now!"
Adam is a member of the Sunderland Ravens club where he trains once a week under the guidance of Pierre Mahon, one of the leading coaches in the country.
The final two Grand Prix events of the season are at Swadlingcote and High Wycombe, after which Adam will be competing in the European, Scottish, English and British Championships later in the year.
Adam is still looking for sponsorship. Anyone who can help should contact Wendy Lee on 01904 639977.
