Ellis Pickering made it two race-walking wins in a row when, following his last victory at Tang Hall, he emerged the victor in the latest CIU League fixture over the new Fulfordgate route.
Previously the race was over two laps taking in Heslington.
With a handicap start the South Bank man quickly overhauled the early starters maintaining his lead to the finishing line recording 66 mins 29 secs.
Club colleague Kev Goodwin 62-30 was fourth. Earlier in the season he had won the Roy Thorpe Walk on the course's debut with a slower time.
Also gaining valuable points were INL Shamrocks. Their scoring duo of Rob Gilroy 62-49 and Mark Byrne 62-16 were second and third respectively, after both did a lot of work in the later stages the race.
Fastest toe and heeler was South Bank's Martin Fisher, who clocked 55-10 over the five laps approximately 6.7 miles of the field. Bringing up the rear of the field was scratch man John Pearson (South Bank).
The next race is at INL tonight.
The corresponding fixture last season was won by John McClure with Stuart Martindale the fastest, clocking 50-46. Both men represented Tang Hall Spartans.
