Only two games were able to start in the Foss Evening Cricket League and then both had to be abandoned due to the wet weather.
In division one Woodhouse Grange looked on course for a formidable total having reached 89 for one against league leaders Bubwith.
Howard Johnson scored an attractive unbeaten 51 supported by David Longton (29).
Thixendale visited Melbourne in division two and their innings of 97 for three was built around an unbeaten 33 from Richard Johnson. Melbourne looked well placed at 58 for two when the game had finally to be abandoned.
The league are looking to recruit two new teams for the second division in season 2002 and any interested clubs should contact the league secretary Stephen Denness on 01430 860374.
