Harrogate is to stage the second North Yorkshire Youth games.
The first such event was held last year in York as part of the national Millennium Youth Games.
But the 2001 version features even more children - 875 - aged between nine and 15 playing for 16 trophies at Granby High School on Sunday, June 24 from 10am to 5.30pm.
The 11 disciplines are: athletics, football, basketball, kwik cricket, hockey, netball, orienteering, tag ruby, sportsability for young people with disabilities, table-tennis and tennis.
The Games are funded by the Sport England Lottery Fund, North Yorkshire Sport - a local leisure and education partnership - and new sponsors HSBC Bank.
