OH HOW I agree with your correspondent Derek Wortley about the state of the lifts at York District Hospital (Letters, June 8). Over the years, while visiting friends and family, I have watched in disbelief at their state of deterioration but have done nothing about it, being preoccupied at these times with thoughts of loved ones.
Mr Wortley's letter, however, has prompted me to address this as a serious issue. Let all like-minded readers either write to the management or the Evening Press and demand answers.
On the face of it, it seems a relatively inexpensive way to cut down on "in stay" infection by spending some money to clean up the lifts.
Mr Wortley says that his greatest concern is that senior management have allowed this state of affairs to exist for so long. Let this be of great concern to every single person using these lifts and something will be done.
