There was a run-feast at Dringhouses, where both the hosts and Carlton Towers netted maximum batting points in their division one tussle.

Leading the spree was Carlton's Stuart Coleman who demonstrated his ability to bludgeon an attack by smashing an unbeaten 101 off just 59 balls to record one of the quickest centuries for a number of years.

Left-hander Paul Wright made a stylish 73 but his innings paled as Coleman smashed eight sixes to help Carlton to 221 for 5.

Two of the sixes came in the final over of the innings with Coleman going to his three-figure score with a two off the final delivery.

Home bowler Alistair Darnell captured three wickets but suffered a fair degree of punishment as he went for 84 runs.

Mick Kenyon's 2 for 38 was a more acceptable return and would have been better had Coleman not survived an early chance off his bowling when he had made ten.

Dringhouses opener Mark Fenton led his side's spirited response and, with John Crowe hitting 40, a home win was a possibility for most of the innings until wickets were lost in the final push as Kev Waites took 3 for 48 and Jason Schmidt 3 for 35.

Fenton was unbeaten on 86 having carried his bat as he and last man Duncan Renton negotiated the final two overs to earn a draw at 203 for 9.

Leaders Beverley Town increased their lead when they inflicted a six-wicket defeat on Sessay after dismissing the home club for only 92.

Matthew Till stood alone, making 32 as Shaun Lightowler and Barry Sayer bowled unchanged with Sayer emerging with 6 for 53 in 19 overs and his sparring partner 4 for 32 in 20 overs.

Beverley suffered early mishaps as they lost two wickets with just six scored and the potential for a nail-biting affair was a possibility at 46 for 4 but skipper Andy Burton then joined Tim Forden and the pair took Beverley to victory at 93 for 4. Fordon was unbeaten with 36.

Third-placed Crayke entertained second-placed York, the resulting draw in favour of the visitors enabling them to open up a 20-point gap on their hosts.

Ed Senneck, rested from York's ECB Premier League team, hit a useful 44 but the decisive innings came from former Bath player David Catlow who hit 81.

With Aussie Kent Stone chipping in with 31 York were able to reach a big score of 218 for 6 in a game reduced to 35 overs per side. Mick Pipes captured 3 for 39.

Crayke were never likely to match the scoring rate and took the draw at 133 for 5 thanks to Dave Thomas' 47 and 28 from Mark Hutchinson. Seventeen-year-old Chris Cole captured 3 for 33 for York.

Stillington's overseas star Mohammed Haffeez cracked his second century to set up a big 130-run victory for the Hambleton side. Hafeez hit 112 and his mentor Paul Mosey 56 as the pair shared an opening stand of 167 which set Stillington on course for an impressive 232 for 3.

Wilberfoss' batsmen fell foul of Daley Wharton who captured 5 for 19 in a nine-over spell which had them all out for 102. Only Dave Gilbertson, who made 42, put together a satisfactory knock.
