Bridlington's frustrating wait for the arrival of their overseas player ended when Pakistani Ehtesham Younis finally appeared at the club and was immediately drafted into division two action.

He quickly made his presence felt by grabbing 5 for 50 to help dismiss Tadcaster Magnet for 151. Rob Hill made 58 for the early pace setters but then saw his efforts come to nought as Barry Rudd and Dave Watson put on 129 for the Bridlington first wicket.

Watson fell for 27 to give Younis a chance to bat on his debut and victory came without further loss in the 39th over as Rudd moved to 112no and Younis reach 11no.

Three of the League's newer clubs are dominating with only three points separating pacesetters Hull Zingari, Scarborough and Goole Town.

Hull were the only one of the trio to record a victory, their two rivals left with advantage draws.

Mark Richardson was top scorer as Hull took first innings, making 78 while support came from Mike Knowles (27) and Alistair Markham (26) in Zingari's 194 for 4.

In reply Steve Arundale made 25 but the Alliance were dissolved for 108 as Andy Hamson captured 4 for 24, Mark Beddis 3 for 25 and Kevin Deighton 3 for 29.

Bubwith contributed 29 extras to a modest Goole Town total of 144 for 8. Anthony Gibbins was the only batsman to feature, making 26 as Brian Last (4-32) and Neil Pratt (3-36) took charge.

Pratt then followed with 53 and Neil Readman made 44 but their fellow batsmen made little impression as Richard Mann (3-36) and Dave England (3-35) worked their way through the batting order. Scarborough relinquished top spot when they were unable to match a score of 205 for 6 at Whitkirk. The home total came through Jeremy Bowman who hit 87 and Gary Thorpe who made 25. David Morris, aged 18, led Scarborough's reply with 62 to keep his average around the 50 mark. However Whitkirk's Tony Walker was able to take 3 for 48 to restrict Scarborough to a draw at 191 for 8.

Civil Service produced their best performance of the season as they gained the better of a draw after totalling 164 for 9 at Castleford.

Three batsmen all contributed - John Chisholm 33, Alistair Raper 29 and Dave Randall 27 while Mick Bourke captured 6 for 70.

Castleford's reply was led by South African Greg Curry who made 55 while Ian Shackleton added 31.

Harrogate skipper Jeremy Henderson's unbeaten 52 helped his side defeat Rowntrees by seven wickets.

Rowntrees made a disastrous start as they slumped to 38 for 5 before Barry Steel and Tony Thomson staged a fight-back. Thomson eventually fell for 33 but Steel went on to make a career-best 64 to help boost Rowntrees to 151 for 6.
