A BAKERY in Ryedale is getting set for one of its biggest orders - supplying food for North Yorkshire's wedding of the year.
The Bakery, in Norton, has been enlisted to make food for the wedding blessing between Simon Howard and Rebecca Sieff on Saturday.
The couple were due to tie the knot at a low-key official ceremony in the grounds of Castle Howard today, before having their wedding blessed at the estate tomorrow.
Norton Bakery has been contacted by wedding organisers and asked to provide breakfast food and food for tomorrow. Owner Sally Hudson said she was excited - even though she will not be attending the big event.
"We will be supplying croissants and brioche bread for breakfast for the guests and we will also be supplying sandwiches for the band which will be playing at the reception."
As all but family and friends have been barred from attending the wedding, a veil of secrecy has descended over the estate.
"We will be baking everything fresh that morning but there seems to be very tight security," said Mrs Hudson.
"We have been told to deliver the food at the gates at a certain time in the morning or we won't be able to get in."
The couple have been planning their wedding for many months.
Last month they scotched rumours that the official ceremony would take place at Ryedale House, in Malton, when they revealed they had applied for a special licence to hold stage the event at the chapel at Castle Howard.
