BARBICAN remain unbeaten in League 1 of the York Veterans' Bowls League after two away wins against Huntington WMC 18-11 and Museum 30-4.

Nestl 'A' are in second place with victories over Museum 21-10 and Fulford Cons 'A' 19-14. Forum 'A', who have yet to win a game, came close to securing their first win losing by one shot to both Wigginton 'A' and Osbaldwick 'A'.

Three teams are level with eight points at the top of League 2.

Bert Keech 'B' lead the way with the best shots difference, in spite of losing their unbeaten record first to Retreat 21-16 and then to Wigginton 'B' by one shot. Forum 'B' move into second spot with two good wins against Wigginton 'B' 20-10 and Osbaldwick 'B' 20-16. Osbaldwick 'B' recorded their first league win, beating Nestl 'B' 16-12.

Dunnington 'C' with four straight wins head League 3 after an easy 22-7 win over Bert Keech 'C'. Nestl 'C' also beat Bert Keech 'C' 15-13 and are in second place.

Stamford Bridge and Bootham Cons were involved in a high scoring draw, both teams scoring 24 shots and Bootham also had an easy win against Nestl 'D' 31-7.

Scarcroft lead League 4 by three points after beating Ainsty 'A' 27-7 and Dringhouses 'A' 17-14.

League 5 leaders West Park 'B' easily beat Copmanthorpe 'B' 33-9 and Acomb 'B' also had an easy win over Bishopthorpe 'B' 26-7 to move into second spot with a superior shots difference over Ainsty 'B'.

In League 6, four teams have eight points and Acomb 'A' with a 17-12 win over RI Amateurs are in first place.

Rink secretaries are reminded that entries for the Triples competition and the Lord Mayor's Two Woods Singles Trophy should be received by June 30.
