THREE cheers for Tony Blair! As a resident in a community that owes so much to the farming industry I was delighted to read that little Phoenix the calf had been saved and that the scandalous 'cull at all costs' policy is being reined in.
Although we can only guess as to who made this decision, it is pretty obvious it came from the very highest level.
At long last we have a resolute and firm leader who doesn't shirk from making common-sense decisions, no matter how unpopular they may be with the bureaucrats. I know who will be getting my vote in June.
