Sixteen swimmers from Tadcaster swim squad took part in the Spa distance meet at Harrogate, alongside guests from Bathgate swimming club in Scotland.
The Tadcaster squad gave a good account of themselves against strong opposition with Peter Webster taking second place in the 15-and-over 200 metres backstroke, narrowly failing to catch the national champion.
In the same age group, Tom Davies continued his return to form with fourth in the 200m freestyle.
Anna Martin continued to close the gap on her national qualifying times with fourth and sixth place in the 200m and 400m freestyle, while Amy Costello improved her personal best for the 200m breaststroke, set only two weeks previously.
Chloe Carter, aged 11, produced an outstanding performance to beat the three-minute barrier in the 200m backstroke, and Jessica Walker, Naomi Bohnton, Kristian Stafford and James Webster were other youngsters who swam personal best distance times.
Of the more experienced swimmers, Andrew Cowan, Felicity Prior, Anna Horwell, Charlotte Black, Amy Clayden, Luisa Horwell, and Claire Passmore all had personal best times.
The squad are hoping to visit Bathgate to compete at their sprint meeting in September.
